story - that Ann Widdecombe is tipped to be the next Ambassador of Great Britain to the Holy See.
I don't really see it. Do these jobs not normally go to career diplomats from the FCO?
On a connected note, I read one of Ann's novels during the holidays and found it rather good.
An Act of Treachery is about a young French woman who falls in love with an older married German officer in occupied France. Must track down the follow up -
